Mō te tūranga | About the role As a GIS Specialist, you'll help shape how geospatial technology supports the design, construction and delivery of resilient infrastructure across Aotearoa. This role works across digital, project and operational teams, with a strong focus on web GIS, data quality, analysis and practical solution delivery. You'll work with a broad mix of spatial data, from design models and imagery through to survey and project information, creating tools that make it easier for teams to understand what's happening and what to do next. It's a role for someone who likes solving real problems, working side by side with good people, and turning ideas into useful outcomes. Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities Design, configure and support geospatial solutions using the ArcGIS ecosystem, with a strong focus on web mapping applications. Manage and maintain web maps, apps and content across ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise. Deliver GIS services including data processing, spatial analysis, quality control and interactive digital information products. Gather technical requirements, document business processes and help shape practical geospatial solutions for project and business needs. Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and support wider adoption of geospatial technology across the business. Identify opportunities to improve data integration, efficiency and decision-making; while keeping safety, quality and environmental standards front of mind. Strong understanding and the ability to implement spatial workflows, ideally across the Esri ArcGIS ecosystem and Safe Software FME Form/Desktop and Flow/Server. Experience delivering web GIS, data processing, analysis and quality assurance in a practical business environment. A confident, collaborative approach and the ability to build strong relationships across technical and non-technical teams. Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities and keep moving forward. A genuine focus on safety, quality and doing the job properly, especially when the stakes are high. Experience in infrastructure, construction or related industries would be an advantage. Experience with Autodesk AEC Collection, 12D or similar digital engineering tools would also be useful, but not essential.
