About the role

About the role The Psychedelic Research Therapist will deliver manualised, protocol-driven therapy to participants enrolled in clinical trials investigating psilocybin for complex mental health conditions. In this role, you will help strengthen the operational and clinical foundations that underpin the Centre's cutting-edge psychedelic research. What you would be doing You will be one of the main research therapists in a pilot study investigating the use of psilocybin for gambling disorder (PsiloGambling). You will support participants through all phases of psychedelic-assisted therapy-preparation, dosing, and integration-upholding both participant safety and research integrity. You will also contribute to the smooth operation of trials by working on other research projects as needed to cover annual leave or busy periods, scheduling training series as instructed by the Senior Therapist, analysing qualitative data, and circulating key information within therapy teams. Unlike traditional therapy roles, this post requires strict adherence to study manuals and timelines while contributing to the safe and ethical delivery of experimental psychedelic interventions. Your approach will centre equity, diversity, and inclusion, ensure culturally responsible participant care and contributing to an inclusive team culture that strengthens the integrity and impact of our research. What we are looking for Graduate Level degree in psychology, psychotherapy or related clinical discipline Professional certificate or training in a psychedelic programme (e.g. Institute of Psychedelic Therapy, Psychedelic Studies at Exeter, etc.) Previous experience in the practice of psychedelic therapy or related therapeutic modalities Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in clinical or research contexts Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with participants, research staff, and external collaborators Strong organisational skills and capacity to manage complex scheduling needs Ability to plan, support, and co-facilitate training initiatives for therapists, promoting safe and culturally sensitive psychedelic therapy practice What we can offer you The opportunity to work alongside world leading researchers within the field of psychedelic research.The opportunity to develop your skills as a trained therapist and specialise in psychedelic therapy for gambling disorder.
