The role will partner closely with the LinkedIn Media Production, LinkedIn Editorial, and LinkedIn Learning teams to develop workflows and rightsize technical offerings based on the content needs of the businesses.
Responsibilities
- Platform delivery: Implement, maintain, and monitor LinkedIn Studio Broadcast standards across 7+ studios. Serve as the subject matter expert for broadcast platform operations, supporting live operators and producers, and addressing platform escalations.
- Communicate and maintain changes to ensure alignment with the Studio in the Cloud strategic direction. Drive economies of scale in service delivery.
- Media workflows: Match customer deliverables with broadcast platform offerings to deliver content globally.
- Studio builds: Deliver and improve studio and venue builds for LinkedIn media teams.
- Develop global media workflows for live and studio recording.
- Act as the escalation point for system and technical event issues.
- Maintain and operate the broadcast infrastructure.
- Participate in pre-production meetings to intake technical requirements for P0 events.
- Collaborate with creatives to configure production systems that achieve creative and content goals.
- Work with Operations to develop efficient live video workflows, encoding procedures, and streaming protocols.
- Collaborate with network operations on broadcast systems show requirements.
- Provide direct support for live productions, including off-site productions.
- Apply familiarity with REMI workflows and software-defined workflows (e.g., AMPP).
- Own and operate live streams within the India region, serving as the regional point of accountability for live broadcast delivery.
- Tech Focus: Manage software and firmware versioning of broadcast infrastructure.
- Configure and operate broadcast hardware and software.
- Manage the lifecycle of broadcast hardware.
- Set up and configure studio systems for productions.
- Manage and troubleshoot live encodes from remote events, studio shoots, and company production spaces.
- Maintain system as-built, workflow, and general documentation.
- Gather data and create measures to assess platform effectiveness.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in AV and broadcast systems engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in live video delivery.
- Service management mindset; translate complex technical needs to customer outcomes.
- Familiarity with emerging IP media technologies, including SMPTE 2022-6, ST 2110, AES67, Dante audio, and NMOS IS-04/05/06.
- Familiarity with IT networking, including VLAN, routing, ACL, and QoS.
- Knowledge of network IP media protocols, including AVC/HEVC, RTMPS, RIST, JPEG 2000, H.264/H.265, SRT, and NDI; experience with stream analysis.
- Operational experience with video storage solutions.
- Ability to communicate with end users, business owners, developers, systems engineers, and various levels of management, including executives.
- Demonstrated ability to consolidate data into easily understandable deliverables.
- Experience with cloud-based broadcast infrastructure.
