Responsibilities
- Provides patient treatment using a variety of therapeutic interventions to support recovery of physical function and management of developmental conditions.
- Applies knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan to deliver age-appropriate, effective care.
- Supports the development and implementation of comprehensive rehabilitation programs addressing physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs.
- Promotes patient and caregiver independence by connecting them with appropriate resources and support services.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively with interdisciplinary care teams involved in patient treatment.
- Supports discharge planning by working toward goals established at evaluation and throughout the episode of care.
- Advocates for patients to ensure access to appropriate care, services, and resources.
- Provides care across multiple settings, including inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, and community-based environments
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Less than one year of physical therapy experience required
- Demonstrates foundational knowledge of physical therapy principles, including how and why treatments are performed, with ability to interpret patient data under supervision
