Position Summary Serves as the designated on-call safety, compliance, and incident response authority responsible for ensuring regulatory adherence and providing guidance during transportation and dock operations incidents, hazardous materials events, and driver compliance issues. Major Tasks and Responsibilities Leads real-time incident response for accidents, injuries, hazmat events, and security concerns, including coordinating with emergency responders, leadership, and external agencies. Conducts and supports accident investigations including evidence collection, interviews, root cause analysis, and documentation, and provides guidance on drug and alcohol compliance through post-accident determinations. Oversees DOT and FMCSA compliance through Hours of Service monitoring, electronic logging device reviews, driver record audits, and regulatory adherence. Coordinates insurance, legal, and claims management activities involving adjuster interactions, liability reviews, and litigation support. Supports environmental, hazardous materials, and cargo securement compliance through spill response, personal protective equipment, and regulatory reporting in accordance with PHMSA, OSHA, and state regulations. Develops reports, metrics, training recommendations, and audit support documentation for leadership and regulatory agencies. Assists drivers and terminals with roadside inspections, enforcement actions, and security-related incidents.
