The Indirect Tax Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly indirect tax filings related to entities in scope, including but not limited to Sales/Use Tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), Gross Receipts Tax, Business & Occupation Tax, Business Licenses. Responsibilities & Duties Support Indirect Tax Compliance process by ensuring timely and accurate submissions of Tax Returns. Maine tasks will be preparing, filling and paying Tax Returns as per Compliance Calendar and Tax Authorities regulations Support regional tax teams in tax research, issue resolution, and implementation of consistent global tax practices. Use compliance software to perform adjustments, reconciliations, and data exports. Maintain a clean and accurate tax calendar by tracking all filing, payment, and reporting deadlines to ensure timely completion of deliverables. Assume an active role in researching issues, coordinating and communicating with cross-functional teams, and presenting recommendations to management Assist with monthly and quarterly reconciliations of tax accounts. Provide support for tax audits, ensuring all requested information is provided accurately and on time. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support tax technology initiatives, including automation of workflows and enhancement of reporting tools. Participate in the continuous improvement of tax processes through automation, standardization, and operational efficiency initiatives. Identify and escalate tax issues or risks promptly, supporting resolution through research and documentation. Ensure proper maintenance and documentation of tax records, processes, and audit trails to support compliance and transparency. Assist with data analytics projects to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and insight into tax reporting. Support special projects and initiatives as assigned. Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures and service level agreements. Proactive identification of process improvement opportunities Qualifications & Requirements Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Tax Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other equivalent Tax Certification (i.e., CTA, CMI, etc) is an advantage, but is not required. 3-4 years of relevant professional experience in Tax or Accounting Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc) Working knowledge and understanding of accounting standards and procedures and internal controls. Experience working with ERP, e.i., Oracle is an advantage, but is not required. Data analytics experience is an advantage, but is not required. Thorough knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) Attributes: Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a specific group of internal and external customers. (Communication) Ability to maintain good customer relationship with the ability to proactively support customer needs and requirements. (Customer Service) Ability to be thorough and meticulous in completing assigned tasks and identifying errors, duplicates, & discrepancies through defined methods. (Attention to Detail) Ability to identify, assess, and resolve simple to moderate issues by following defined policies and procedures.
