NP/PA, Non-Surgical (Anesthesia/Pain Management)

About the role

Provides expert comprehensive advanced patient care to pain management patients primarily in the outpatient setting but may include in-patients when deemed appropriate. Autonomously performs pain management assessments of all patients. Functions as part of a multi-disciplinary pain management team, collaborating with Anesthesiologists, NPs/PAs, RNs, Physical Therapists, psychophysiologist and other pain management personnel in safely assessing and treating the patient. Education/Experience: Advanced Practice Registered Nurses - Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. - Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred. Physician Assistants - Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies strongly preferred - Minimum of two years Pediatric primary/specialty or acute care setting experience OR 2 years' experience in related allied health field (i.e. family practice setting with heavy component of pediatric patients) strongly preferred. Certification/Licensure: Advanced Practice Registered Nurses - Current Texas professional registered nurse license - Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license - Recognition from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Nurse - Certification as Pediatric or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner - Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required - Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred* Physician Assistants - Current Texas professional physician assistant license - Recognition from the Texas State Medical Board as a Physician Assistant. - Certification as a Physician Assistant PA-C required. - Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required - Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred* * PALS certification is required when assigned to Anesthesiology, Care Team, Complex Care, Fostering Health, H/O, Nephrology, and Neurology departments. #CCPN #LI-RV1 About Cook Children's: Our not-for-profit organization is comprised of a flagship medical center in Fort Worth, Texas, a new medical center in Prosper, Texas, a physician network, home health company, surgery centers, health plan, health services, and health foundation.
