Responsibilities
- Provide freeway and arterial management using ATMS software
- Assist with the development and review of performance measures
- Collect data and identify opportunities for a continual improvement process
- Assist with the development and delivery of training materials
- Act as the primary liaison between the TMC, local maintaining agencies, and client personnel for arterial management.
- Monitor local agency ATMS and Centralized software relating to signal timing operations; identify opportunities for improved level of service

- Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
- Minimum:
- BS Civil Engineering or related field and 8 years of traffic operations or related field experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Preferred:
- State-level TSMO experience
- Experience working in a Traffic Management Center Environment
- Knowledge and experience with ATMS software
- Experience working with signal timing, identifying issues, and recommending improvements
- Connected vehicle technologies knowledge or experience
- Experience with Power BI and/or other data visualization software
- Experience with data collection and analysis
- Experience communicating to other staff and clients
- Experience working independently and with guidance.
- Experience working within a team environment
- MS or PhD in Civil Engineering or related field
- Relocation is not an option for this position

AECOM is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer based in Franklin, TN. The Traffic Engineer will provide TMC & TSMO support in a 24/7/365 environment where freeway and arterial traffic is managed. This position will work with the Tennessee TSMO/TIMS group. The position is a hybrid position that will require both in and out of office assignments. This position will be based in Tennessee, but will also provide TSMO support to teams in the Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina markets.
