We provide these services to federal, provincial, regional, local and Indigenous governments, to the forestry, energy, mines, petroleum, transportation and utility sectors, and to numerous regional invasive species organizations across Canada. Why Wright Canada Holdings: A Company Culture of Safety, Family, Integrity, Excellence and Stewardship Pay rate of $ 21.40 to $ 24.00 per hour, based on experience and certifications, in addition to an attendance bonus paid out at season's end. We provide the equipment needed to complete your job- tent, sleeping bag, PPE, backpack- just bring your work boots. Compensated travel time, depending on working location. Accommodation is provided during shifts and on resets. Potential for work that extends past the firefighting season.

Responsibilities

• Maintain situational awareness.
• Extinguish residual fire, including but not limited to breaking apart smoldering debris, extinguishing embers, or small flames, and moving burned debris so it.
• Moving burned debris so it cannot reignite.
• Operate trucks and ATVs.
• Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright and Wright Canada Holdings culture of safety and employee ownership.
• Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
• Organization of equipment before, during and after shifts will be required.
• Other duties as required.
• Experience and Knowledge Expectations:
• Must have completed: S100 Basic Fire Suppression and Safety (or equivalent)
• S185 Fire Entrapment Avoidance.
• Five (5) certifiable days (12 hours per day) actively involved in firefighting would be preferred.
• OFA Level 1, Chainsaw Operator and DTA Fire Module would be preferred.
• Able to complete the Annual Physical Fitness Test-Moderate Standard.
• Valid British Columbia Class 5 Driver's License and a current Driver's Abstract.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions and work, including exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work tasks such as rain, heat, sun, cold, snow.
• Work well alone and with others.
• Possesses the ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Must be able to write, read, and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
