Job Title : Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer Reporting To: Management, Procurement Work Schedule: Onsite - Torrance, CA Moog Military Aircraft Group has an immediate opening for a Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer. Reporting to the Supplier Quality & Development Manager. This on-site position is based in Torrance, CA (Los Angeles area) and offers a 9/80 work schedule. As Moog expands the volume of components sourced through our external Supply Chain, we are strengthening our Manufacturing Engineering team to ensure suppliers can deliver high‑quality parts at customer demand rates. Our Manufacturing Engineers play a critical role throughout the product lifecycle-from early design influence and supplier selection to process development, capability analysis, and ongoing risk mitigation. This role partners closely with cross‑functional teams and suppliers to establish stable, capable, and compliant manufacturing processes as parts transition from internal production to our global supply base. As a Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer, you will: Support the manufacturing of complex machining, gear, and motor components within the supplier network. Conduct part risk assessments and drive mitigation plans with suppliers. Review and validate manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications. Collaborate with internal engineering teams to understand and communicate design intent. Recommend tooling, processes, and inspection methods to improve supplier performance. Assess supplier manufacturing capabilities and provide technical support to resolve issues. Review manufacturing specifications and provide guidance to ensure proper application. Identify manufacturability concerns on new designs and drive data‑based feedback to design engineering. Recommend product or process improvements to reduce risk and defect potential. Lead and participate in DFX/DFMA activities for new products. Review and approve PPAP submissions for accuracy and completeness. Create and support PFMEA activities with suppliers. Conduct Gage R&R and MSA evaluations with Moog and supplier teams. Analyze process capability data and drive improvement where needed. Support Moog's Zero-Defect journey using AS9145 methodologies. Travel up to 35%. To be considered for Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer, here's what you'll typically bring with you: Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or a related Engineering discipline with 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience Strong working knowledge of turning, milling, OD/ID grinding, surface grinding, and jig grinding processes Experience machining aerospace materials including carbon steels, stainless steels, carburizing and nitriding steels, and aluminum alloys Solid understanding of heat treatment, plating, non-destructive testing (NDT), and aerospace painting processes Proficiency in 3D modeling best practices and principles.
