About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Commercial Analyst to join our Commercial Operations team. This 12-month contract role is a fantastic development opportunity for a highly analytical professional looking to deepen their commercial and data capability in a fast-paced retail environment. Reporting to the Commercial Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in analysing labour budgets and forecasts, helping to optimise workforce efficiency and improve cost performance across our national store network.
Responsibilities
- Analyse labour budgets, forecasts and performance across stores nationwide
- Identify trends, risks and opportunities to optimise cost of doing business
- Develop and maintain reporting to support labour planning decisions
- Partner with Operations Managers, Business Managers and Labour leads to provide insights and recommendations
- Use data to build compelling narratives that influence business decisions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across labour planning processes
- About You
- You're a commercially minded and detail-oriented analyst who thrives on turning data into actionable insights. You bring strong analytical capability alongside the confidence to engage and influence stakeholders.
- You will also have:
- Strong financial and data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret large datasets
- Advanced Excel skills (essential), with experience in Power BI and other reporting tools preferred
- Experience in workforce planning or labour modelling, ideally within retail or a fast-paced environment
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- A proactive, continuous improvement mindset with the ability to work autonomously
- Degree qualification in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
