About the role

You will serve as a SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNER (COR)-EV2 in the ENVIRONMENTAL DIVISION of COMNAVREG SE JAX. This position has a selective placement factor for the 0819 series, Environmental Engineer Position, that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Current license as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico for the Environmental Planner position. You MUST provide a copy of your current registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not have an expiration date will not serve to verify this requirement. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing and reviewing complex environmental planning documents, such as Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Environmental Assessments (EA) and Categorical Exclusions (CATEX) to assess the environmental impact to military programs, operations and exercises; 2) Ensuring compliance with principal environmental legislation and DOD policy related to environmental policy; 3) Acting as project leader for difficult and highly complex or controversial projects specifically related to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); 4) Developing and maintaining project criteria, schedules, and budgets in conformance with project and Navy mission requirements; 5) Managing contract task orders and potentially functioning as a Navy Contracting Officer Representative for services provided by contractors. **NOTE: This information must be supported by your resume in order to be considered for the position.** Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series AND https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0800/files/all-professional-engineering-positions-0800.pdf Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
