About the role
Brookwood Group is a technology-enabled owner's representative and program management firm with roots tracing back to 1945. We've managed over $10 billion in construction programs, and our mission is simple: Advancing and Protecting the Interests of the Owner . We're not a mega-firm where you're a number, we're a collaborative team that combines deep construction expertise with modern technology to deliver better outcomes for building owners. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with deep data center and mission-critical facilities experience to serve as the owner's representative on a high-profile hyperscale data center development. This isn't a job where you sit in an office reviewing reports; you'll be on-site, in the action, working directly with contractors, engineers, and the owner to ensure this campus is built right.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-site owner's representative, ensuring the project stays on budget, on schedule, and aligned with quality standards.
- Manage relationships with general contractors, A&E teams, and commissioning agents-driving accountability and coordination across all parties.
- Oversee MEP systems coordination including electrical distribution (medium voltage, UPS, generators), cooling systems, and BMS/controls integration.
- Review and process RFIs, submittals, and change orders with a critical eye-protecting the owner from scope creep and cost overruns.
- Coordinate L1-L5 commissioning activities and ensure systems perform as designed before handoff.
- Prepare clear status reports, visual planning tools, and presentations that give stakeholders real insight into project health.
Requirements
- 10+ years of construction project management experience, with at least 5 years focused on data centers, mission-critical facilities, or industrial MEP-intensive projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical distribution systems, backup power infrastructure, cooling systems, and building automation.
- Experience reading and interpreting MEP drawings, one-lines, and control sequences.
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and hold contractors accountable.
- Willingness to be on-site full-time in upstate New York.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Hyperscale data center experience (100MW+ campuses).
- Experience with crypto-to-data-center conversions or adaptive reuse projects.
- Owner's representative or program management background (vs. GC-side only).
- CCM, PMP, PE, or LEED AP credentials.
- What You'll Gain
- A seat at the table on one of the most technically demanding construction programs in the country.
- Direct exposure to cutting-edge AI infrastructure being built for a leading technology company.
- Access to AI-powered project management tools; we're not your grandfather's OR firm.
- Competitive compensation with relocation assistance for the right candidate.
- A collaborative team that values getting things right over checking boxes.
