Job Summary WD is seeking a seasoned Government Affairs & Policy Director to lead its public policy engagement and regulatory strategy in Malaysia. This role will be instrumental in shaping the company's relationship with government stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to support business growth and innovation in the region, WD's strategic interests in Malaysia and strong public-private partnerships. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead WD's government relations and policy advocacy efforts in support of its operations in Malaysia. Monitor and analyze legislative, regulatory, and policy developments affecting the technology and manufacturing sectors. Cultivate and maintain relationships with key government agencies, policymakers, interlocutors and industry groups. Develop advocacy initiatives related to the Electrical and Electronics (E&E) sector, particularly on the topics of digitalization, innovation, investment, sustainability, trade facilitation and workforce development. Represent WD in stakeholder engagements, public forums, industry associations, and policy dialogues. Provide strategic counsel to internal stakeholders on regulatory risks and opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, operations, R&D, public relations) and external resources to align policy initiatives with business objectives. REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Law, International Relations, or related field. Minimum 12 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory advocacy in Malaysia with some experience in government affairs with the Government of Philippines. Strong understanding of Malaysia's political and regulatory landscape, especially in technology and manufacturing. PREFERRED: Proven track record of influencing policy outcomes and managing stakeholder relationships.
