Optical Network Engineer (Perm - L2/3 Networking - Digital Inventory)

Responsibilities

• Study and analyze network capacity utilization to support planning and optimization of optical/transport network changes.
• Generate monthly utilization reports using the digital inventory system and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Ensure inventory records are up to date, including network assets and circuit routing details .
• Support restoration activities during outages by planning restoration using available capacity within agreed SLA targets.
• Document network designs, configurations, and topology diagrams for ongoing processes and reference.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners/vendors for capacity requests, new orders, and implementation support.

Requirements

• Diploma in Engineering/Telecommunications (or relevant field).
• Telecom experience with focus on transport network, optical transmission and Ethernet technologies .
• Good understanding of transport network architectures including OTN and Ethernet, and DWDM .
• Knowledge of L2/L3 networking, TCP/IP, IP addressing, and routing protocols .
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Preferred / Additional (if available):
• Experience maintaining inventory/circuit records in a digital inventory system.
• Experience with network restoration support and standby coverage during assigned weeks.
• Familiarity with networking hardware from major vendors.
