About the role The CeLSIUS team provides support to UK academic, statutory and voluntary sector users of the Office for National Statistics (ONS) Longitudinal Study (LS). ONS maintains the dataset and provides core documentation while CeLSIUS provides an expert interface to the data. This involves helping users with the specification of projects, creating data extracts, running analyses and providing a wide range of training and information resources accessible via the CeLSIUS pages on UCL's website. Application Details: This is a fixed-term contract with external funding for three years in the first instance. The role is available as either Research Fellow (Grade 7) or Senior Research Fellow (Grade 8) depending on qualifications and experience. This role meets the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL welcomes applications from international applicants who require a visa. A DBS is required for this role. About you You will have a PhD in quantitative social sciences or a relevant discipline (or equivalent research experience) with a significant quantitative component; knowledge of UK Census / longitudinal social survey data; ability to use STATA or R; experience in statistical methods; data management skills; ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively; and ability to manage time, use initiative, prioritise workload and work to strict deadlines.
