Job Summary: CSA Group has an immediate opportunity for a Manager, Strategic Initiatives (SIM), reporting to the Director, Electrical, Standards. The Manager of Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to support the development and execution of strategic priorities within the electrical sector standards portfolio. This role focuses on advancing initiatives in the electrical sector related to the Canadian Electrical Code Parts I, II and III, energy efficiency, renewable energy systems, and electrical energy storage technologies. The position supports identification of emerging issues, development of strategic plans, and execution of initiatives aligned with sector priorities, including securing funding to enable this work. The SIM will be responsible for advancing proactive, leading-edge initiatives to support standard development activities, and successfully identifying emerging trends and technologies. A highly creative individual, with a strategic mindset, the SIM in coordination with the programs will explore new areas of interest, developing a strong understanding of the existing landscape, key actors, and roadblocks, and will assess the potential need for standards-based solutions. The SIM will be able to build and nurture relationships with key public and private organizations, identifying and pursuing opportunities for deeper collaboration. Working at the intersection of research and standardization, the Manager, Strategic Initiatives will also focus on addressing gaps through CSA research-based initiatives and pursuing new standards-based opportunities to mobilize knowledge. Working with Technical Committees and cross-sectoral staff, the Manager of Strategic Initiatives would help ensure cross program and cross sector coordination on standardization activities and research. In close collaboration with the Director, Electrical Standards, and Program Manager's for Electrical Safety and Energy Efficiency and Renewables, the SIM will directly contribute to the development of the sector's strategic plan.
