POSITION SUMMARY: As a Chemical Blender, you play a critical part in the organization securing raw materials in a safe environment. The Chemical Blender blends and batches raw materials, samples batches, and records data. Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 an hour DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Operate a sit-down forklift Collect raw materials Package chemicals in pails, drums, and totes Responsible for decanting chemical into containers as specified in related procedures Ensure supplies are distributed as required throughout the facility Neatly store supplies and empty containers General housekeeping of the plant and surrounding areas Clean and store safety equipment for re-use Report process and/or safety equipment issues to Production Supervisor Comply with all safety requirements within the company Responsible for processing formulas and blending products for shipment Responsible for decanting chemical into containers as specified in related procedures Responsible for all shipping and receiving duties Attends equipment or semiautomatic systems that process chemical raw materials into finished industrial products. Operates and controls transfer equipment flow from one tank to another. Operates electronic scale used for weighing or measuring raw materials to be added to batch. Read, interpret, and follow all batch sheet instructions and work instructions. Selects and adds raw materials as required to manufacture product. Controls and monitors process temperatures and process times Cleans out and purges process equipment. Complies with precautions prescribed on batch sheet. Quarantine suspect chemical material and report to Management Report process and/or safety equipment issues to Management Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required Report to Supervisor/Manager to ensure adequate inventory and raw materials in the plant Select products for outbound orders Receive product (bulk and packaged) for inbound orders Load and unload trucks Maintain daily logs and record plant operating data Effectively, timely, and respectfully communicate and interact with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and customers Collect raw materials Ensure supplies are distributed as required throughout the facility Neatly store supplies and empty containers Inform Purchasing when supplies need to be re-ordered General housekeeping of the plant and surrounding areas Comply with all safety requirements within the company Comply with all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and safe handling practices as required from Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and company procedures Follow WHMIS, MSDS and all other safety training requirements and procedures Follow all government and regulatory requirements when handling and transporting chemical materials Perform other duties as assigned or needed Regular and sustained attendance
