About the role

Job Summary The Mechanical Technician is responsible for fabricating, installing, calibrating, testing, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems. This job profile is intended for entry-level support staff who follow specific instructions and procedures, with supervision provided for non-routine situations. This job and its associated grade are specifically aligned with roles that have the following scope of responsibility: Small, Medium, Large, Division / Extra Large organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation and repair of mechanical systems.
• Calibrate and test mechanical equipment.
• Fabricate and assemble mechanical components.
• Follow maintenance schedules and safety protocols.
• Document work performed and report issues.

Requirements

• May require basic vocational training (or equivalent work experience) and the ability to carry out assigned tasks after initial instruction or demonstration.
• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills.
• Ability to read technical diagrams.
• Attention to detail and safety.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
