ETL Tester

Responsibilities

• The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Build, execute, and automate test cases based on test plans and functional requirements
• Conduct functional testing of new requirements and enhancements of applications
• Perform peer reviews of test scripts, results and documentation
• Interpret and report testing results and advocate for quality in every phase of the development process
• Work with Software Development Engineers to understand the overall technical architecture and how each feature is implemented

Requirements

• Strong IT professional with 2-4 years of experience in ETL testing. The candidate should have strong qualitative and quantitative problem-solving skills along with high on ownership and accountability.
• 2+ years of QA experience
• Strong knowledge in writing complex queries for validation of ETL process.
• Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries, including all types of joins, aggregations, window functions, and advanced filtering.
• Proficiency in using SQL for data validation, profiling, and reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI for data visualization, and testing dashboards.
• Ability to validate BI reports against source data and ensure data accuracy and integrity
• Understanding of platforms like Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Experience in testing data pipelines in cloud environments.
• Experience with any of the tools such as iCEDQ, DataOps, QuerySurge, Informatica, Talend, or SSIS for automating ETL testing.
• Ability to design and implement automated test cases for ETL processes.
• Involvement in data migration projects, including planning, execution, and validation of migrated data.
• Ability to perform row count, data integrity, and transformation validation during migrations.
• Ability to interpret source-to-target mapping documents and convert them into test cases or complex SQL queries for validation.
• Experience in validating mapping logic and ensuring accurate data transformation.
• Perform data verification and reconciliation between source and target systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure alignment with testing efforts.
• Generate and maintain test data for various scenarios.
• Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modelling, and data integration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Good to have:
• Exposure to Data ops, Data bricks Tools
• E xperience in BI report testing using Business Objects, BI Publisher
• G ood to have Sql Server Management Studio exposure
• Graduate/Post graduate in BE/Btech, ME/MTech or MCA is preferred.
• Excellent communication and prioritization skills.
• Able to work independently or within a team proactively in a fast-paced AGILE-SCRUM environment.
• Owns success - Takes responsibility for successful delivery of the solutions.
