We're looking for an Associate Director of Survey who blends technical mastery with leadership vision. Someone who has built their reputation on accuracy, relationships, and results. You will guide our survey practice, shape strategy, and ensure that our work continues to set the standard in quality and service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead with Vision Develop and execute a strategic plan for our survey group that aligns people, projects, and processes to support growth, technical excellence, and client satisfaction.
  • Build on Local Strengths Leverage your established relationships within the surveying, land development, and municipal communities. You know the local landscape, the clients, the agencies, and the terrain, and you will use that insight to open doors and strengthen our presence in the region.
  • Drive Technical Excellence Set the tone for quality and consistency across all survey deliverables. Provide senior-level technical oversight, establish standards, and ensure our teams are equipped to deliver with accuracy and confidence.
  • Empower and Mentor Teams Coach project managers, field crews, and office staff to grow their technical and leadership abilities. Your mentorship will shape the next generation of survey professionals and strengthen our culture of learning and accountability.
  • Foster Strong Client Partnerships Represent our survey practice with integrity and professionalism. Develop and maintain client relationships built on trust, responsiveness, and results that turn first-time clients into long-term partners.
  • Collaborate Across Disciplines Work closely with engineering, planning, and environmental teams to deliver integrated, efficient solutions that meet client goals and uphold our reputation for excellence.
  • Ensure Financial Performance Oversee budgets, schedules, invoicing, and profitability metrics for the survey group. You will drive operational efficiency and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Champion Innovation and Continuous Improvement Stay ahead of emerging technologies, tools, and industry practices. Encourage the team to explore advancements in survey methods and software that improve quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Represent Our Values in the Field and the Community Act as the face of our survey practice by attending local professional events, engaging with associations, and strengthening our connections in the markets we serve.
  • What You Bring
  • Professional Survey License in Delaware (preference for additional state license credentials)
  • Extensive experience in land surveying with progressive leadership responsibilities
  • Strong local relationships and a respected presence in the regional survey and land development community
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage operations, and deliver projects successfully
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Technical expertise in survey principles, standards, and technologies
  • Business acumen with a track record of contributing to growth and profitability

  • Pay Range
  • $140,000 - $200,000 USD
