About the position: This position will be assigned to the Moody. Guaranteed 20 hours, but may work up to 40 hours per week. Who May Apply: Open to everyone. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have progressively responsible experience in quantity cooking, preparation of a variety of food items, menu planning, quality of food preparation, and storage procedures for food supplies and equipment. In addition, the incumbent must have knowledge of dietetics, planning culinary activities and portion control. Must have the ability to plan culinary activities to meet meal schedules. Must have specialized training and experience which involved planning, preparing and service food in mass quantities for large groups of people. Knowledge of etiquette and military protocol desirable. Must be able to continually stand and walk, frequent stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing and bending. Frequently lifts and moves objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lifts or moves objects weighing over 40 pounds with assistance. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical and obtain a Food Handler's Certification and/or complete food handler training. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to read, write and speak English.
