Functions in collaboration with the health care team in accordance with certification and licensure. Practice emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems. Responsible for dissemination of knowledge through instructing, leading and developing educational programs. Job Details The Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, East Region Section (Consults in Gastroenterology or CIG) is hiring for a full time day shift Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to join our team. The primary role for these positions will be inpatient GI consult coverage at Hillcrest Hospital on days and weekends with the possibility of outpatient clinics (Park East, Hillcrest Atrium and Concord) depending on department need and candidate interest. APPs will be trained and expected to see a wide variety of GI conditions including symptoms that need further evaluation (examples include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, anemia, etc...) and established GI/Liver diagnoses (GERD, fatty liver, pancreatic disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, colorectal cancer screening, cirrhosis, etc...). The ideal candidate is self-motivated, comfortable working with a high level of autonomy, functions well as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and is flexible in work assignments. The shift for this position is currently 7:30-4 or 8:30-5; there is discussion of moving to a 4-10 schedule but at this time the position is 5-8s. The position will require holiday and weekend coverage. A candidate who is interested in preferentially working more weekends would be preferred.
