About the role
The Chief Information Office manages FS Information Resource environments. This position is responsible for facilitating the coordination with field and Forest Service leadership for all information technology infrastructure, business applications, and information management services. Specialized Experience Requirement: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as two or more of the following: Identifying and resolving frequent and regular transmission/communication problems; and/or Assisting in the development of overall functional and systems requirements and specifications; and/or Participating in the testing of new hardware/software. In addition to the qualification requirements above, applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following competencies: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.
