About the role

To qualify for this position at the FV-H (FG/GS-12) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-G (FG/GS-10/11) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes: (1) applying engineering principles, advanced design analysis and mathematics and their application to mechanical systems, use of electronic circuits. (2) engineering functions such as design, development, evaluation, testing, installation and maintenance of equipment. Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history. In addition to the minimum qualifications, the following has been determined to be a Selective Placement Factor for this position. This means possession of this criterion is part of the minimum qualifications and is essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Applicants who do not possess this criterion are ineligible for further consideration. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: In order to be qualified for this position applicant(s) MUST possess knowledge and experience with building and facility mechanical and/or electrical system design and construction i.e. heating, ventilation & air conditioning (HVAC) systems, plumbing, building management systems, fire suppression, power distribution, lighting, telecommunications, fire alarm, intrusion, public address, etc. (Provide details of your experience) In addition to the above qualifications, the following has been determined to be a Quality Ranking Factor. This means applicants who possess this factor are considered to be Well-Qualified. QUALITY RANKING FACTOR (QRF): A well-qualified candidates will possess experience in architectural/engineering design and experience with green building and sustainable design. Experience ranging from small to mid-sized, new or renovated facilities which include administrative, technical and adult training facilities.
