Reid Accountants + Advisors is an independent, full-service accounting and advisory firm specializing in accounting and consulting services for businesses and individuals. We currently have offices in Long Island, NYC, White Plains and South Carolina. Join a rapidly growing organization with a strategic vision and dynamic plan We are seeking an experienced Manager, Tax, to join our New York City office in a hybrid capacity. This role is ideal for a collaborative, client-facing tax professional who thrives in a team-oriented environment and brings strong technical expertise. The Manager, Tax is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while providing high-quality tax planning, advisory, and compliance services to clients. This role includes preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, supervising and mentoring staff, managing engagements, and serving as a key point of contact for clients. Key Objectives: Be proficient in the preparation and review of a wide variety of tax returns, including but not limited to high wealth individuals, fiduciary, corporate, partnerships, and multistate filings Demonstrate competency across all phases of tax services, including tax planning, compliance, preparation, review, and research Apply strong technical knowledge of accounting and reporting standards when researching, completing, and reviewing complex tax matters Identify tax risk management issues and propose practical solutions through research and collaboration with engagement Partners Review tax procedures and financial statements with minimal supervision Monitor tasks assigned to team members to ensure questions are addressed, communication is clear, and work is completed accurately and on a timely basis Oversee and coordinate day-to-day engagement workflow, including planning, execution, and wrap-up Communicate client issues, deadlines, and engagement status to Partners to ensure timeliness and quality of service Supervise, train, and mentor tax staff, fostering professional development and collaboration Serve as a primary client interface, building and maintaining strong client relationships

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (Required)
  • CPA license (Required)
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a public accounting / CPA firm (required)
  • Experience using CCH Axcess Tax, tax research tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently while inspiring and leading a team to drive results
  • Strong client-facing communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a positive and professional demeanor
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage workloads based on team skill sets
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Consistent communication with Partners, clients, and team members to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality results
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Schedule: 9:00am - 5:30pm - Hybrid with increased hours for busy seasons
  • Ability to commute/relocate: New York City office: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work ( Required )
