Responsibilities
- Support Clinical Pharmacists by reviewing prescription requests and associated patient documentation prior to prescribing and dispensing.
- Assess patient records and supporting documentation to ensure eligibility for treatment in line with clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Identify missing, incomplete, or inconsistent information and escalate queries appropriately to the Clinical Pharmacist team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient and prescription records within internal systems.
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists, clinicians, and patient support teams to deliver a seamless patient experience.
- Respond to internal queries relating to prescription processing and documentation requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes and quality assurance procedures.
- Support onboarding and training of junior team members where required.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and remain up to date with relevant pharmacy regulations and best practice guidance.
Requirements
- Hold a Level 3 NVQ in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent qualification).
- Be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Has previous experience working in a pharmacy, primary care, or wider healthcare setting.
- Possess a strong understanding of pharmacy regulations, governance, and standard operating procedures.
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage a high volume of work accurately.
- Be highly organised with strong administrative and documentation review skills.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach to care.
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and evolving healthcare environment.
- Experience in primary care, reviewing prescriptions, patient eligibility criteria, or clinical documentation is preferred.
