About the role

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), San Diego Field Division, San Diego, California. The purpose of this position is to serve as an expert advisor to the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) on operations program and policy for the San Diego Division. Applicants applying for the GS-14 must meet one of the following requirements: A. Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting or managing studies of operation programs, policies and procedures related to an organization's workforce; 2) Performing analysis of large qualitative and quantitative data sets; 3) Recommending and/or implementing action plans to improve program performance; 4) Developing statistics, policies, procedures, and guidelines applicable to operational programs; 5) Overseeing programs to ensure that funds, property, and other assets are safeguarded; and, 6) Coordinate special projects with other agency field divisions, Headquarters, and/or other interagency partners. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
