Job Summary: Xylem GCC Vadodara / Chennai campus is searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support and enhance Xylem's mechanical product portfolio for global water Treatment Product portfolio. The role primarily focuses on sustaining engineering , value engineering/VA-VE , and new product development (NPD) to ensure design robustness, manufacturability, cost-optimization, and product competitiveness. Engineer will lead complex design enhancements, manage engineering change processes, drive problem-solving initiatives, collaborate with global stakeholders, and promote continuous improvement . This position is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented engineer passionate about product performance and innovation. Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities: Lead sustaining engineering tasks including engineering change requests, drawing updates, and processing documentation. Drive VA/VE initiatives to achieve cost savings, material optimization, and performance improvements. Support and contribute to New Product Development (NPD) and technology upgrade projects - early concept design through manufacturing release. Develop detailed 3D/2D CAD models, GD&T drawings, tolerance stack-ups, BoMs, and related manufacturing documentation. Conduct DFMEA, DFM, DFA, prototype validation support, and technical reviews. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Procurement and Global Design Centers. Ensure adherence to global engineering standards, compliance, and configuration management practices.
