Minor Hotels Australasia have a rare opportunity for a highly driven Senior Legal Counsel to join Minor Hotels' in-house legal team. You will work closely with the Head of Legal to shape legal strategy, mentor the legal team, and handle complex legal matters. Key Responsibilities Include: Providing comprehensive legal advice, recommendations, and support to key internal stakeholders, including the Owners Department, Property Division (70+ properties), Leadership Team, Executive Committee, Head of Legal, and Commercial Departments. Managing legal matters by offering expert advice, preparing, and reviewing contracts and other legal documentation. Keeping the Head of Legal fully informed of significant legal or compliance issues arising from ongoing work. Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing corporate, sponsorship, software-related, and other commercial agreements, including hotel management and operational contracts. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating Hotel Management Agreements (HMAs), property leases, and associated documentation. Supporting the legal team in managing agreements related to the acquisition or divestment of hotels, including purchase and sale agreements. Preparing, renewing, and assigning MLR Agreements, leases, HMAs, and franchise agreements as required. Providing expert advice on General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance and privacy legislation. To be successful in this role you will require the following: Tertiary qualification in Law or Law/Commerce. Admission to practice as a solicitor in Queensland. At least 6 years of post-admission experience, with demonstrated expertise in Property Law or Hotel Law highly regarded. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executives, managers, staff, external counsel, and regulatory bodies in a professional and collaborative manner. High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and exceptional phone and computer skills. Excellent planning and organizational abilities to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency.
