Warehouse Associate

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against delivery documents.
• Load and unload deliveries using appropriate equipment.
• Label, sort, and store inventory in designated warehouse locations.
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatch accurately and on time.
• Perform stock counts and assist with regular inventory audits.
• Update inventory records using the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or other inventory software.
• Assist with container stuffing and unstuffing.
• Ensure goods are handled carefully to prevent damage.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
• Follow FIFO/FEFO inventory practices where applicable.
• Assist with returns processing and stock reconciliation.
• Support delivery drivers during loading operations when required.
• Comply with all workplace safety procedures and company policies.
• Report damaged goods, stock discrepancies, and operational issues to supervisors promptly.
• Perform other warehouse-related duties assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager.

Requirements

• Minimum secondary school education or equivalent.
• Previous warehouse experience is an advantage but not essential.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy items (up to 25kg where appropriate and in accordance with workplace safety guidelines).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Familiarity with handheld scanners or Warehouse Management Systems is an advantage.
• Forklift licence is an added advantage.
• Willing to work overtime when operationally required.
