Mechanical Engineering Lecturer

Responsibilities

• Assess apprentices in the workplace against qualification standards
• Support learners to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours
• Provide clear, constructive feedback to support progress
• Monitor and track learner progress to ensure timely achievement
• Work closely with employers to support apprentice development
• Maintain accurate assessment records and documentation
• Ensure compliance with awarding body and quality standards

Requirements

• Assess engineering apprenticeship standards, including Machining, Mechatronics, and Engineering Technician , ensuring learners meet required competencies and industry standards.
• Utilise Smart Assessor to effectively track progress, upload portfolios, and maintain accurate learner records in line with awarding body and compliance requirements.
• Hold a relevant engineering qualification (Level 3 or above) , demonstrating strong technical knowledge across engineering disciplines.
• Possess a recognised assessor qualification (essential) , ensuring high-quality and compliant assessment practice.
• Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills , enabling effective planning, feedback delivery, and documentation management.
• Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with learners and employers , supporting engagement and successful programme outcomes.
• Adopt a proactive and supportive approach to learner development , providing guidance, coaching, and constructive feedback to help individuals achieve their full potential.
• Hold a full driving licence with willingness to travel , supporting on-site workplace assessments and employer visits.
