Responsibilities
- Act as a designated MLRO for Western Union Thailand. Experience in Myanmar corridors are a plus .
- Under the general supervision of senior management, this role supports the development, implementation, and enforcement of policies, procedures, and programs that minimize money laundering risk for Western Union and its affiliates.
- Support the creation and execution of AML policies, procedures, controls and compliance programs.
- Manage AML requirements for assigned agents/sub‑agents and provide guidance to ensure compliance with laws and company standards.
- Conduct transaction analyses, compliance reviews, and training sessions to assess and strengthen internal controls.
- Follow up on compliance findings and communicate results to internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and assist senior management with reporting and regulatory interactions.
- May supervise staff and provide training, coaching, and performance support.
- Handle both standard and moderately complex program reviews.
- Work with regulatory bodies, FIUs, and law enforcement under senior management guidance.
- Role Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- At least five years of AML Compliance experience in complex retail/consumer financial services/payment services organizations with multiple financial products and dealing with regulatory matters.
- Experienced MLRO or deputy MLRO with a licensed entity in Thailand within the financial services, fintech or payment industry is required.
- Experience in problem solving and decision-making bearing in mind business implications and/or financial risks. Proven ability to analyze, utilize industry standards and employ sound judgment to draw conclusions regarding the status of an agent's compliance program. Excellent multi-tasking ability.
- Proficiency in data analysis and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
