This position is responsible for leading new launches and engineering changes at the plant. Administrative tasks for the project manager and team members to keep the project running smoothly. This may include ordering equipment and supplies, managing deadlines and workflow, and scheduling meetings and appointments. Main Responsibilities and Activities - Line balancing and elimination of bottlenecks through time analysis. - Implementation of cost-saving ideas. - Improvements to machinery and equipment - Development and implementation of better technologies. - Improvements to process flows. - Redefinition of the layout - Monitoring and updating AMEF, and reducing RPNs - Updating, developing, and controlling process sheets and process documentation. - Purchasing machinery and equipment. - Participating in IATF audits - Participating in VDA audits - Knowledge of Core Tools (AMEF, DF, APQP, PPAP) - Knowledge of GD&T - Knowledge of Optitex or Accunest and Accumark (applies to Cutting & Sewing) - Optional: Knowledge of Navistar and Daimler CSR - Validates the components and quantities used in the product manufacturing process through BOM audits. - Validate product cycle times through route audits. - Coordinate engineering changes requested by customers and internally. - Ensure compliance with environmental and climate change policies - Identify, control, and minimize significant environmental aspects relevant to your area of work. - Coordinate the project team to meet KPI objectives - Assist with prototype and pre-launch process issues - Lead program launch activities to ensure new products are delivered on time, achieve project milestones, and are within budget - Manage engineering changes on time - Ensure team members have the supplies and resources they need to complete their tasks on time and within budget - Evaluate project risks and issues and provide solutions as appropriate - Participate in project design meetings and propose improvements if necessary - Plan and manage team objectives, project schedules, and new information - Ensure all PPAP and process documentation are on time, up to date, and include operational team training - Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to ensure issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner - Conduct layer process audits, safety network audits, as required by schedule, and ensure compliance with engineering team audits - Ensure compliance with all IATF-16949, ISO-14001, and plant-related audits (internal and external) - Develop and maintain procedures related to the responsible area - Adhere to environmental and climate change policy compliance - Other assigned duties. Education / Experience / Skills - Bachelor's degree in engineering is required. - Ability to read and interpret technical communications, blueprints, diagrams, and drawings. - Minimum of three (3) years of experience coordinating engineering teams in the automotive industry is required. - Desired experience in lean manufacturing. - Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus. - Knowledge of GD&T.
