Utility Manager

Responsibilities

• Preparation of drawings (MicroS tation) and exhibits.
• C oordination with the Utility Owners and their designers.
• Conduct meetings with the Utility Owners and their designers.
• Program agendas with the Utility Owners and their designers.
• Produce minutes with the Utility Owners and their designers.
• Handle communications with the Utility Owners and their designers ( letters, emails , distribution of drawings, etc.)
• Review and comment the different utility design plans .
• Assist and/or direct Utilitie s meetings .
• Perform quantity take-offs.
• Prepare cost budgets.
• Perform cost estimates.
• Perform cost control.
• Prepare labor schedules.
• Ensure compliance with quality requirements and standards.
• Process change orders.
• Provide technical expertise related to Utilities and ROW and Easements.
• Recommend solutions to design changes throughout construction process.
• Manage subcontractor scope of work respective to various contracts.
• Help in the m anage ment of The Utility Design and Coordinator Company scope of work respective to various contracts and various utility conflicts .
• Minimum Requirements
• B achelor degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Science, or equivalent.
• Minimum of four ( 4 ) years of experience of progressive responsibility with relevant design activities on similar PPP and Design-Build projects .
• It will be preferred if the applicants have prior experience performing utility design and adjustments with utility owners.
• Excellent command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Schedule program, Microstation.
• Scheduling experience preferred .
• Experience in preparing quantity take-offs.
• Experience in preparing cost budgets.
• The applicants shall have prior experience within TxDOT highway project corridors .
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Capacity to manage people.
