If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, you must have Undergraduate or Graduate Education with a major study in electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management or other fields related to the position to be filled. Other education consists of Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that include advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-to-month basis. -OR- Specialized Experience in evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology. - AND -To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include all of the following: Performing radio/field communication support, such as designing, implementing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing HF, VHF, and UHF Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems and RF subscriber units. During events and incidents, programming and operating ComSec and radio/field communication equipment, and planning, coordinating, and providing temporary radio/field communication equipment and support. Collaborating with other federal, state, and local agencies on radio/field communication interoperability. Knowledge of Project 25 (P25) radio standards. Knowledge of R56 grounding standards. You must include hours per week worked. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
