Cost Engineering Manager

Dyson's cross functional Cost Management team is responsible for cost reductions throughout the entire product lifecycle. With our holistic cost management, we safeguard full cost transparency to make the right decisions. A fact-based approach helps us to identify saving opportunities and drive their implementation. Dyson Cost Management is seeking a highly motivated Expert/Manager for our Cost Engineering team in China to work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement and Finance teams to ensure our cost competitiveness. As the Cost Engineering Manager within Group Finance team, you will have a significant contribution to the profitability of our inventions and innovations. Your work will have a direct impact on our product cost, our product designs, and our manufacturing processes. - Generate bottom up Should Cost / Best Practice product cost calculations. - Establish state of the art Cost & Value Engineering methods and processes. - Support target cost setting process. - Lead competitor teardown/benchmarks. - Analyse supplier quotes and cost breakdowns of parts and tooling concepts to support procurement team. - Generate and drive implementation of (Design-to-Cost) cost reduction ideas. - Manage internal knowledge domain and reference calculation models. - Enhance total cost management process and digitalization. About you - A degree in Engineering with experiences in process and part optimization (electronics and/or mechanics). - Project leadership experiences. - In-depth knowledge and proven track record in Cost Engineering. - In-depth knowledge on manufacturing technologies - understanding of cost structure and margin structure of purchased and in-house manufactured parts.
