Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Plastics, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering (or closely related field) is required
  • 5+ years of profile extrusion, or twin-screw compounding experience strongly preferred

  • Complete salary range for this role: $76,550 - $135,000

In addition to competitive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance and robust paid time off, we offer the following:Hexcel 401k with company matching contributionEmployee stock purchase programQuarterly bonus potentialProfit Sharing ProgramPaid Parental LeaveEducational Assistance ProgramPrepaid group legal planHexcel is currently seeking a Thermoplastics Lead Engineer for our Amesbury, MA location.The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:Design and prove out of thermoplastic tooling (Extrusion, Injection Molding, etc.)Operation and troubleshooting of single/twin screw extruders and injection molders and assist in directing equipment repairs and upgradesAssist operators with process improvementsSpecifying new equipment, develop procedures and troubleshoot equipment as neededPerforming lab-scale and pilot-level compounding of new polymer / filler systemsServe as SME for Thermoplastic Engineering projects and apply engineering principles across facilityProvided technical direction, coaching and development opportunities for direct/indirect reportsAct as bridge between the engineering/technical team and various department leaders to ensure streamlined technical integrationDrive production performance to meet customer demands.Participate in customer meeting to capture requirements, provide technical insight and support the successful execution of NPI activitiesDental insuranceVision insurance401(k)Equity / stock optionsPerformance bonusParental leave
