The program combines didactic and simulation-based learning, with precepted clinical experiences and professional development opportunities. Our goal is to optimize the orientation experience while setting new nurses on the pathway to achieve their career goals. The novice nurse will participate in a Clinical Development Pathway which combines general and specialty specific learning and development and brings the new graduate from their first day to certification and beyond. Our Residency Program is designed to grow confident nurses who are engaged in their profession and deliver compassionate, quality care that achieves exceptional patient outcomes. As a Magnet organization, our goal is to engage our nurses from day one and provide an environment for them to grow and achieve their professional goals.
Responsibilities
- Upon completion of the residency our nurses will:
- confidently provide patient care as part of an interprofessional team
- have a voice in their practice by participating in shared governance
- prepare to achieve specialty certification or pursue further academic education
- be motivated to take part in our clinical advancement program
- have opportunities to advance their careers or explore other specialty nursing roles
- After nurse residents complete their initial clinical orientation, they will continue to participate in the residency while building their advanced specialty knowledge, clinical skill set, and working on their assigned shift.
Requirements
- Graduating from an Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or equivalent) from an accredited institution required.
- Registered Nurse, licensed in the state of NH or eligible
