About the role

  • c. Sleep studies
  • d. Noninvasive and invasive diagnostic procedures
  • e. Blood gas and other pertinent laboratory analysis
  • Application of therapeutics to respiratory care:
  • a. Medical gas therapy
  • b. Humidity therapy
  • c. Aerosol therapy
  • d. Artificial airway management, and care
  • e. Airway clearance
  • f. Invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation
  • g. Vascular catheter insertion, management, and care
  • h. Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS)
  • Patient assessment including physical examination and diagnostic data interpretation
  • Assessment of therapies
  • Disease management of acute and chronic diseases
  • Collaborative support of hemodynamics
  • Discharge planning and case management
  • Provision of emergency, acute, critical, and post-acute care, including
  • a. Patient and environmental assessment
  • b. Therapeutic interventions
  • c. Patient land and air transport
  • Safety and Equipment Maintenance
  • Precepting new staff as directed; including Respiratory Therapy and Resident Nurse students as required.
  • Meet additional AHA certifications as determined by service location. Facilities with an Obstetrics Department require a Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Meets and maintains clinical ladder requirements of a level II Respiratory Therapist
  • 1 year of clinical experience
