About the role

Assesses risks and makes recommendations for underwriting decisions with support and guidance from leadership as needed, while developing underwriting skills and building critical internal and external relationships. Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Responsibilities

• Qualifications Degree in Business or equivalent typically required
• At least 1 year, typically 1.5 or more years, of underwriting experience and/or other related business experience
• Actively pursuing professional insurance designations
• Ability to successfully develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships
• Demonstrated analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks within defined authority
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills required with ability to successfully develop and maintain productive producer/customer relationships
• When applicable, successful completion of certifications
