About the role
Evaluate and prescribe treatments for employee work-related illness, injury and other conditions. Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers and human resources regarding employee fitness for duty and return to work. Provide acute care, assessment and treatment for non-work related injury, illness and other conditions. Develop and implement strategies to prevent work-related injury or illness and expedite return to work. Perform blood-borne pathogen exposure assessment, treatment and follow up. Participate in preventative screening programs (TB, influenza, hepatitis B, MMR, varicella, biometric labs) and surveillance programs designed to identify and monitor risks to the employee health. Health promotion and education. Identifies and refers employees with personal health issues to EAP. Performs fitness for duty evaluations on injured or ill employees. Counsel employees on physical and mental health issues and guide towards to employee assistance programs. Documents employee visits thoroughly and accurately in Agility. Acts as an advocate for rights of employees and ensures access to preventive health and safety measures. Help to maintain OSHA required logs and documents. Implement policies and procedures for maintaining confidentiality. Identification and prevention of workplace hazards.
Requirements
- Current Georgia Authorization/Certification as a NP Advanced Practice Registered Professional Nurse is required
- Current graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant Program and certification is required
- Current Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse s required
- Master's Degree in Nursing from the Georgia Board of Nursing Graduate School NP program is required
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
- Previous experience in area of specialty preferred
