About the role
The Data Center Technician Manager leads hands-on technical teams responsible for cabling, hardware installation, and day-to-day data center operations. Drive incident response and escalation for technical issues, ensuring SLA adherence and rapid resolution. Lead the use of specialized test equipment (e.g., DSX, OTDR), including test planning and results validation. Enforce safety, compliance, and quality standards, promoting a culture of accountability and operational excellence. Partner cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and project teams to support deployments, expansions, and upgrades. We expect you to have: Associate degree or equivalent hands-on experience in IT, networking, or technical services. 5+ years of data center or infrastructure experience, including cabling and hardware deployments. 2+ years of experience leading technical teams in a mission-critical environment. Strong working knowledge of structured cabling standards (BICSI, ANSI/TIA, NEC). Experience with fiber optics, copper cabling, servers, networking equipment, and power distribution basics. Ability to participate in on-call rotations and perform physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs). It will be an added bonus if you have: Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or related field. Industry certifications (e.g., BICSI, CDCP, CompTIA, ITIL). Experience in large-scale data center builds or migrations. Familiarity with Linux, scripting (Python/Bash), and data center management tools. Strong organizational, communication, and customer-facing skills.
