About the role

We are looking for an EMEA Tax Specialist to join our multi country team. The role covers responsibility for Indirect Tax (VAT / Customs / Excise) for EMEA countries (Spain, Portugal, France, UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and submission of Indirect Tax Returns across Europe in cooperation with external and internal counter parties.
  • Ensure quality of VAT Returns and identify issues and opportunities to continuously improve the VAT compliance process.
  • Monthly review and reconciliate of all VAT accounts.
  • Support for Internal and External Audits.
  • Reconciliation of the Turnover against VAT bases and explanation of the difference.
  • Participation on projects to cover VAT implications.
  • Managing Internal controls over Indirect Processes.

Requirements

  • Proactive, well organized, fast learning, positive, team player but autonomous.
  • Personality to work on business cases with multidisciplinary complexity.
  • Strong Interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
  • Able to identify problems and significantly improve, change or adapt existing methods.
  • Degree in Law or Economics, Bachelor's in Business Administration or similar degree.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
  • Good French, Italian or German is valuable.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Solid Indirect Taxes knowledge paired with sound finance know-how Knowledge of SAP is an asset.
  • Experience working in an International company/Big4/ Shared Service Center.
  • Experience with SAP is an advantage.
