About the role
Be the one who makes a difference! At Vertex Education we are a team of high achievers, courageous leaders, and passionate believers in changing lives through education. As a purpose-led education services provider, our mission is destined to benefit many and yet it starts with just one person inspired to work together with us to make a memorable and meaningful difference for our clients, schools, students, and communities. Be the one who makes a difference-with us. As the Sr. Manager, Student & Family Platforms , you will own execution for the end-to-end parent and student lifecycle across Legacy Traditional Schools. You will bring coherence to our application ecosystem, including multiple Student Information Systems and a new parent CRM covering all parent services, communications, and support interactions, by simplifying processes, standardizing data, and ensuring that parents and students experience a single, intuitive journey from first inquiry through graduation. Success requires a hands-on, execution-focused leader with a proactive, strategic mindset: someone who spends their time improving real workflows, resolving issues, and launching changes, while simultaneously reducing complexity and driving long-term coherence across the platform portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution. You are not a hands-on configurator by default, but you have enough technical depth to challenge vendor decisions, direct configuration work, and step in and build when the situation requires it. The person who thrives here measures success in business outcomes: enrollment conversion, parent satisfaction, and operational efficiency for our schools. Responsibilities / Essential Functions: Application Strategy & Roadmap: Translate the operational needs of Legacy Traditional Schools into a multi-year application roadmap focused on simplifying the user experience. Design and document future-state workflows for the Student Information System (SIS) and parent CRM ecosystem, focusing on data integrity and reducing manual processes for school staff. Lead the end-to-end implementation of the new parent-facing CRM, from defining project plans and milestones to coordinating the rollout strategy. Own the relationship with the systems integrator during CRM implementation. Review sprint outputs with a critical eye, challenge configuration decisions that do not serve our schools, protect scope, and translate implementation status into business outcomes for senior leadership. Conduct regular audits of the application portfolio to identify opportunities for consolidation, presenting business cases to leadership for decommissioning redundant systems. User Enablement & Adoption: Partner directly with school leaders and administrative staff to configure applications like PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, and HubSpot to create a more intuitive workflow. Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs, user-friendly documentation, and clear communication plans to drive effective adoption of key platforms by staff and parents. Establish and manage formal feedback channels, such as user surveys and focus groups, to continuously measure and improve satisfaction with core applications. Serve as the designated incident commander for critical application outages, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution for all affected school communities. Business Value & ROI: Partner with the business project leader to define and track success metrics that connect platform performance to business outcomes, including enrollment conversion rates, parent satisfaction scores, and staff productivity, and present these to senior leadership on a regular cadence in business terms, not technical ones. Actively identify and implement AI-assisted workflows within HubSpot and connected systems to reduce manual effort, improve parent response times, and surface actionable insights for school leaders. Vendor & Partner Management: Act as the primary relationship owner for key application vendors, holding them accountable for service delivery, support performance, and contractual obligations. Lead contract negotiations and renewals, working with leadership to secure favorable terms and maximize the value of our investments in technology. Direct and oversee the work of vendor professional services during implementations and projects, ensuring their deliverables are aligned with the specific needs of our schools. Maintain a strong awareness of vendor product roadmaps to inform internal strategy and advocate for features that directly benefit Legacy Traditional Schools. Governance & Team Leadership: Design and implement a formal change management process to review, approve, and communicate all significant application configuration requests. Establish and lead a cross-functional governance committee to prioritize enhancement requests and align application changes with network-wide school priorities. Provide direct coaching
