Senior FP&A Accountant

About the role

Based in Singapore and primarily reporting to the Financial Controller, this role seeks to ensure alignment with finance operations, data accuracy, and budget management. Provides visibility into key performance metrics, providing timely, insightful financial analysis in order to support executive-level strategy and planning.

Responsibilities

• Financial Performance & Reporting
• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports, including variance analysis against budget and forecasts.
• Develop and maintain performance dashboards and KPIs for management review.
• Provide insights into key business drivers affecting revenue, cost, and profitability.
• Budgeting, Forecasting & Scenario Planning
• Support the Financial Controller in the annual budgeting, monthly and/or quarterly forecasting processes.
• Build and maintain financial models to simulate business scenarios and project financial outcomes.
• Perform sensitivity and stress testing to evaluate the financial impact due to market movements.
• Collaborate with business units to ensure financial targets align with operational plans.
• Trading & Market Analytics
• Collaborate closely with commercial trading, risk management, and operations teams to understand P&L movements, hedge effectiveness, and margin optimization.
• provide insights on trading KPIs such as daily profit and loss, VaR (Value at Risk),and utilization of trading limits.
• Support management in evaluating new commercial trading opportunities, supply contracts, and investment initiatives or projects (if any).
• Strategic& Operational Support
• Partner with department heads to evaluate financial implications of business decisions and / or new initiatives.
• Conduct benchmarking and competitor analysis to identify market trends and performance improvement opportunities.
• Present clear and actionable recommendations to management and financial controller.
• Data Analytics & Process Improvement
• Leverage data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Python or equivalent) to improve financial reporting efficiency and insight generation.
• Review and refine internal reporting processes to enhance accuracy and timeliness.
• Identify automation opportunities in financial analysis and reporting workflows.
• Executive& Board-Level Support
• Prepare presentations and dashboards (ie. financial and performance insights) for CEO, management, financial controller, summarizing performance trends, profitability analysis, and financial forecasts.
• Support strategic reviews of trading strategies, business expansion, and cost efficiency initiatives.
• Qualifications& Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, CFA, ACCA) an advantage.
• 4 to 8 years of experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), management reporting, or business analytics.
• Strong financial modelling, data analysis, and presentation skills.
• Good or sound understanding of trading P&L, mark-to-market accounting, derivatives, and hedging concepts.
• Proficiency in Excel, financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle or equivalent), and data visualization tools.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate complex data into business insights.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
