Role Description The company is looking for a competent Financial Accountant who has fresh ideas and a willingness to learn and adapt to a changing environment. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Finance and oversee the work of the Technical Administrator. This is a full-time role based at our manufacturing location in Bridgend, South Wales. Key duties and responsibilities for this position include: Monthly management account preparation, group reporting and variance analysis Monthly payroll preparation for submission to external payroll provider, payroll reconciliation and pension and PAYE payments Accounting for EU grant funding monthly as well as periodic reporting, audits and ensuring compliance with terms of agreements Stock management comprising maintenance of stock system, movement and monthly reconciliation and annual stock count Monthly analysis and calculation of work in progress Invoicing of customers in accordance with project milestones and subsequent debt collection Management of the supplier ledger Setting up of bank payments for approval by a director Maintenance of accurate fixed asset register, loan and lease amortisation schedules Preparation and submission of accurate monthly VAT return Reviewing the work of the Technical Administrator and assisting with any queries/training required Assist with cashflow management and forecasting Participation in annual insurance renewal Assist in management of interim and final external audits including supporting record preparation Assist with annual budgeting process HR administration Registered Company Secretary ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements Monitoring of internal controls and implementing improvements when required to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records Ensuring compliance with accounting standards General administration and ad hoc reporting Experience, Skills & Qualifications Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) Experience with using the Sage 50 system or similar. e.g Sage 200, to include the recording of stock from purchase order through to delivery and invoice. Ideally proven experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment Comfortable working in a small, friendly team Shows a willingness to learn and looking to grow with the business Embraces change and uses initiative to look for ways to make processes more efficient Ability to work independently ensuring deadlines are met Comfortable with managing staff and dealing with queries Good communication skills Possess strong IT skills, particularly in Excel Strong analytical skills and financial knowledge High level of accuracy, excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
