Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts and provide advice on commercial matters, including:
  • Support multi-faceted commercial transactions, including strategic projects and global business alliances, involving working with clients, suppliers and internal and external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Work with business lines, to develop and maintain standard form agreements for products and services offered by the company in support of strategic initiatives and in the ordinary course.

  • Must Have Skills:
  • Called to the Bar of Ontario with membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
  • Qualified legal professional with at least 3 years of relevant, working experience
  • Knowledge and experience drafting, negotiating, structuring and advising on various types of commercial contracts and transactions, including relating to all aspects of information technology and procurement
  • Good overall understanding of intellectual property law and other technology-related legal principles
  • Knowledge of and experience providing advice on privacy law and antispam compliance, including in commercial contracting, digital advertising and marketing, and policy development.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, negotiation and drafting skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Team oriented and able to build relationships with all levels of the organization.

  • Experience working in financial services industry is an asset
  • Experience working on mergers and acquisitions and integration of acquired businesses is an asset
  • This role is hybrid (2 - 3 days/week in the office) - based in Toronto, ON.
  • Salary Range: 150,000/year -165,000/year CAD
