Academic Req: Required - Master's degree in public health with an emphasis in epidemiology, health policy, health promotion, or a related field Certifications: First aid, CPR, Emergency behavior intervention Work experience: Required - At least 1 year of experience in the public health field Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables: 1. Meet and maintain all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards applicable to this position. 2. Work with Compass Connections Epidemiology Directors to develop preparedness guidance as it relates to each program. 3. Submit routine reports on the status of national, state and Compass Connections program public heath trending. 4. Assist Epidemiologist Director with site visits and assessments according to schedule and document findings in coordination with Epidemiologist Director for the assigned region. 5. Assist in training Compass Connections staff on contact tracing, outbreak detection and mitigation, donning and doffing, identification of PPE breaches, and cleaning and disinfection at all program sites. 6. Maintain confidentiality of health care records and information in keeping with HIPAA and Compass Connections confidentiality and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) protocol and procedures. 7. Travel for training, in-services, or corporate conferences/meetings. 8. Address other job duties as assigned or for unforeseen matters that require attention to maintain a fluid and fully functional program. Other Responsibilities: 1. Maintain a public health surveillance program for all Compass Connections sites and conduct contact tracing when needed. 2. Deliver public health educational training programs to clients and staff. 3. Conduct epidemiological investigations of communicable and/or high-consequence disease outbreaks, parasites, chronic illness conditions, disease risk factors, or other adverse health outcomes. 4. Propose corrective action or interventions to prevent or mitigate public health issues based on epidemiological findings. 5. Maintain detailed records, databases, and other critical information systems. 6. Interface with Public Health Departments and federal partners. 7. Conduct routine site assessments to identify and mitigate public health gaps. 8. Provide timely updates and recommendations following chain of command regarding public health issues at Compass Connections sites. 9. Conduct the reporting of notifiable conditions from Compass Connections sites to the respective local health department. 10. Maintain knowledge and awareness of scientific literature regarding public health and infection control.
