About the role

This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration,The incumbent serves as an Archives Technician in the Military Personnel Records, Military Reference Core 3 of the Federal Records Center Program. The incumbent performs numerous activities involved in the processing of file level reference requests of military personnel records from a variety of customers. You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. General Experience for the GS-4: You must have one year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. OR 2 years of education above high school. OR Combination of general experience and education. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following requirements, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F): Advancement to positions up to GS-5: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-05 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
